Jason Ramos

Managing Director

Mr. Lucas has over 37 years of experience in all aspects of the oil and gas business, with a particular focus on company start-ups, exploration, asset management and development. Mr. Lucas has experience in numerous geologic basins with primary focus in the Middle East and has a consistent record of increasing production in existing fields, exploration success and company development and sale. Mr. Lucas began his career with ExxonMobil, Berlin, Germany in 1982 after graduating from Clausthal University of Technology, Germany with a bachelor’s degree in geology with a geophysics option. He worked 10 years with ExxonMobil Production GmbH in Berlin, Moved to the US and worked 7 years with Titan/Pure Resources/Unocal in various exploration, development and senior management positions. In 2007 he co-founded Marshal Resources with private equity partners. Marshal sold its assets in 2011 for over $120 million.

Mr. Lucas began MPG Exploration, Inc. In May of 2012 with a $200 Million equity commitment from Sun Capital Partners MPG completed the sale of its assets in 2015 for a total of $1.1B. He is a 30 year member of the AAPG and SEG, member of the PBGS, WTGS and SPE. He is a certified geologist with the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists and the DPA of the AAPG.

Wilson B. Handler

Executive Vice President

Wilson B. Handler is a partner in the Natural Resources group at Apollo Global Management Inc. Prior to joining Apollo in 2011, Mr. Handler was an investment professional at First Reserve, where he was involved in the execution and monitoring of investments in the energy sector. Previously, he worked in the Investment Banking Division at Lehman Brothers in the Natural Resources group. Currently, Mr. Handler serves on the board of directors of Jupiter Resources, Resource Energy Partners, Tumbleweed Royalty I & II, DoublePoint Energy and Wolfcamp DrillCo and previously served as a director of EP Energy, Athlon Energy, American Petroleum Partners and CSV Midstream Solutions. Mr. Handler graduated from Dartmouth College with an AB in Economics and Government.

C. Ryan Dalton

Managing Director

C. Ryan Dalton is based in Houston and focuses on Energy investments. Mr. Dalton worked at Warburg Pincus from 2008 to 2010 and, following the completion of an M.B.A., rejoined Warburg Pincus in 2012. Prior to this, Mr. Kopel served in a similar capacity for Sanchez Energy Corporation. Mr. Kopel has deep experience in the oil and natural gas industry, having previously worked for Occidental Petroleum, Linn Energy and Breitburn Energy Partners. He began his career working at two international law firms. Mr. Kopel earned a BA with honors in Government from the University of Texas and holds a JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston.

Don Hrap

Director

Mr. Hrap most recently served as President, Lower 48 at ConocoPhillips, a position he held from 2009 – 2018. While at Conoco Phillips Mr. Hrap also served as president of the Lower 48 and Latin America, and prior to that, senior vice president of Western Canada Gas with the company. He joined ConocoPhillips in 2006 through the merger with Burlington Resources, serving as senior vice president of operations for Burlington Canada. Earlier, he was vice president for the North American Division at Gulf Canada Resources, where he worked for 17 years. Mr. Hrap is a former chairman and currently serves as a member of the API Upstream Committee and is an At-Large Director for the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA). He also is a member of the executive committee of the U.S. Oil and Gas Association. Mr. Hrap graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1982. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Calgary with a Master in Business Administration.

Nathan H. Van Duzer

Director

Nathan H. Van Duzer is Managing Director, Special Situations at Fidelity Investments. In his role at Fidelity, he leads a team responsible for corporate reorganizations and restructurings in Fidelity’s High Income and Alternatives Division. In his 20-year career at Fidelity, he has worked on hundreds of in-court and out-of-court restructurings across a wide array of industries. Mr. Van Duzer has represented Fidelity investors’ interests as an observer on numerous corporate boards and currently serves as a director for Lucchese Bootmaker, Inc. He holds a BS from the United States Military Academy and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
